晚报讯 据《北京晚报》报道,美国、加拿大媒体昨天报道称,加拿大北湾地区一名研究人员通过数年研究,发明了一种挑战所有已知物理学规则的神秘仪器———可以隔着墙壁看见墙内物体的“天使之光”。美国麻省理工学院前教授盖里.德里福斯称,如果该仪器真能“看穿墙壁”,那么发明者甚至有望夺得诺贝尔物理学奖。然而正如一枚硬币的两面,这一“穿墙”机器也引发了某种担忧:这一机器目前有两米多长,如果将来它被发展到眼镜或头盔般大小,那么人们几乎将再无家庭秘密可言,因为只要戴上这种仪器,就可以隔墙看穿所有家庭中最隐私的秘密。

光束穿透墙壁

据报道,这名加拿大研究人员名叫特洛伊.赫图比斯,现年41岁,是一名发明家,曾发明过一些具有军事用途的小玩意儿,美国《探索频道》曾经介绍过他的发明。

特洛伊称,他发明的这一机器如今正摆放在他的实验室中,该机器发出的光束可以穿透他实验室的墙壁,让他清楚地看到实验室后面的车库,包括能看清他妻子汽车上的车牌号码。特洛伊道:“有几次,我差点以为那面墙壁并不存在,想走出屋外去,结果差点撞坏我的膝关节。你真的会被那道光芒愚弄,以为你能穿过墙壁接近屋外的汽车。”

特洛伊随即将这一惊人发明告知了他在美国麻省理工学院的专家朋友。特洛伊道:“他们对我的发明异常震惊,并认为我的机器可能打开了电磁学的一扇秘密之门。”

光束“击落”模型飞机

特洛伊称,在不断实验中,他发现“天使之光”还有许多令人意想不到的功能,譬如将它的光束对准某个开着的电器时,该电器就会突然停止工作。特洛伊道:“我将它对准过收音机、电视机和微波炉等,它们全都停止了工作。麻省理工学院的专家认为这太不可思议了。”

最后,特洛伊想试试这个机器能否让在空中飞行的玩具飞机也停止工作,于是他花1800美元购买了一架遥控模型飞机。在家附近的一块空地上,他先打开了“天使之光”对准空中,然后启动模型飞机,让他震惊的是,当飞机模型飞了一圈,飞到那道机器射出的光束中时,它突然从半空中掉了下来。特洛伊继续用该机器测试了其他许多种物质,结果发现“天使之光”能够穿透的物质还包括钢铁、锡罐、钛金属、陶瓷和木头。

特洛伊后来将他自己的手放到了那道光束下,他发现光束穿透了他的手。特洛伊道:“我能清楚地看见自己的血管、肌肉和每样东西。”然而不久后,特洛伊就发现“天使之光”具有恶魔般的副作用。他暴露在“天使之光”下面的那只手的手指开始出现麻木感,感到极端不舒服。特洛伊道:“麻省理工学院专家对我说,每当我打开这一机器的时候,那道光束产生的副作用肯定会有一部分反射到我身上。我开始意识到也许我是在拿自己的生命开玩笑,于是我将机器拆了下来。”

法政府欲购技术

不久前,法国政府派遣代表专程来到加拿大北湾市特洛伊的家中,目睹了“天使之光”的神奇功能,法国专家当即付给了特洛伊4万美元现金,要求定购这台机器的技术。法国专家称,如果这台机器被运到法国境内、并且能够通过许多更加严格的测试,那么法国政府将支付给特洛伊一笔巨额的报酬。

于是,学监哈尔西·古利克要求体育教师奈史密斯发明一种“吸引人、容易学、容易玩,冬天可以在拥有人造灯光的体育馆进行的体育运动”。

奈史密斯想起小时候曾玩过一种叫“赶鸦子上架”的游戏,这个游戏是两个人用一个卵石,看谁能把卵石先丢进一个凹洞里就算嬴。他先以足球代替卵石,解决了球的问题。场地则是室内的运动场。起初,他将两只桃篮别钉在键身房内看台的栏杆上,桃篮上沿距离地面3.04米。最初,篮球比赛是将足球投入篮内得1分,按得分多少决定胜负。每次投球进篮后,要爬梯子将球取出再重新开始比赛。 器材和场地确定了,没有规矩不成方圆,奈史密斯再以美式橄榄球、足球与冰球的规则,制定了篮球游戏最初的规则。

第一场篮球比赛在春田学院的两组学生中进行,比赛的比分结果是1比0,这更像是一场足球比赛的比分。虽然如此,学生们玩得兴高采烈,浑身大汗,一个个精神焕发,恢复了应有的活力。学生们迅速的爱上了这项全新的体育运动。
