SAA是進入澳大利亞市場的電器產品須符合當地的安全法規，即業界經常面對的認證。由於澳大利亞和紐西蘭兩國的互認協議，所有取得澳大利亞認證的產品，均可順利地進入紐西蘭市場銷售。所有電器產品均要做安全認證（ SAA ）。SAA 的標志主要有兩種，一種是形式認可，一種是標准標志。形式認證是只能樣品負責，而標准標志是需每個進行工廠審查的。目前國內申請 SAA 認證有兩種方式，一種是通過 CB 測試報告轉，若沒有 CB 測試報告，則也可以直接申請。SAA認證-產品安全認證
澳大利亞沒有統一的安全認證標志，各個州或地區都先後以立法的形式規定了對電器產品的管理方法。雖然名稱及頒布的日期不盡相同，各個州或地區關於電氣安全立法的內容基本一致。電氣產品分為管制類電氣（prescribed proct）和非管制類產品（Non-prescribed proct）。 SAA認證標志
管制類電氣產品根據AS/NZS4417.2劃分，包含電熱設備、製冷設備、電動工具、零部件等。目錄在政府的公報上公布，並根據實際情況增加。昆士蘭州、新南威爾士州及維多利亞州在認證進程中最為活躍。以昆士蘭州為例，電力法（the electricity Act 1994）宣布了電器認證、銷售及使用的詳細規定。 1、管制類電器：管制類電器強制必須取得由監控部門頒發的認可證書（certificate of approval），並且規定標識（必須打上證書號）。應當注意的是，認證程序只針對安全性而非性能或品質，除非與安全性相關。證書號的第一個字母顯示該證書由哪個州或地區頒發。 2、非管制類電器：非管制類產品雖然不強製取得認證，但其安全性由銷售商/生產商負責，可以自願申請認證。監控部門將為符合標准要求的產品頒發符合性證書（Certificate of Suitability）.取得符合性證書的電器產品可以打上證書號，證書好最後的字母顯示該證書由哪個州或地區頒發，如： CS/431/Q（昆士蘭） CS/108/N(新南威爾士) RCM標志：目前澳大利亞和紐西蘭正在引入RCM標志（Regulatory Compliance Mark）,以實現電氣產品的統一標識，該標志是澳大利亞與紐西蘭的監管機構擁有的商標，表示產品同時符合安規和EMC要求，是非強制性的。在產品取得安全認證和電磁兼容注冊後，可通過頒發安全認證的監管機構或「RCM Registrar」(Standards Australia)申請使用RCM標志。 SAIGLOBAL標志：是由SAI(原來的SAI)頒發的產品安全標志，這個標志是非強制的,並且需要工廠檢查等等。 電器產品的EMC（電磁兼容性）要求，即是在固定場合下，電器設備產生的電磁擾動的量度必須低於一定的標准，不妨礙其它電器正常工作；並且設備自身也具有一定抗電磁擾動的能力。

盡管在大部分州與地區對白家電與家用空調的能耗都有類似的強制要求，各個州的強制認證產品目錄不盡相同。目前昆士蘭州與維多利亞州的產品目錄最為齊全。任何一個州的登記在其他的州與地區也同樣有效。能耗要求適用於下列家用電氣： 電冰箱與製冷器（測試標准：AS/NZS 44741.1、AS/NZS 4474.2） 洗衣機（測試標准：AS/NZS 2040.1 、AS/NZS2040.2） 乾衣機（測試標准：AS/NZS2442.1、AS/NZS2442.2） 洗碗機（測試標准：AS/NZS 2007.1、AS/NZS2007.2） 單向家用空調（測試標准：AS/NZS3823.1.1、 AS/NZS3823.1.2、AS/NZS3823.2、AS/NZS3823.3）申請人必須向監控機構提交申請表並附上完整正確的測試報告及能耗標簽的樣本。測試報告必須由經認可的實驗室出具，自簽發日起三年內有效。 四、電磁安全性要求 電子電器產品進入澳洲，除安全標示外，還應該有EMC標志 即c-tick 標志。目的是保護無線電通訊頻段的資源，它規定的實施制度有點類似於歐洲的EMC指令. 因此，可以由生產商/進口商進行自我聲明。但是，在申請 C-tick 標志之前，必須要按相關CISPR標准進行測試。並要由澳洲進口商背書&提交報告。 澳洲 ACA(Australian Commication Authority ) 統一受理，發放登記號碼。 在澳大利亞電磁兼容性由ACA（Australian Communications Authority）監控，在澳大利亞的EMC體系下，產品分為三類，供應商在銷售二、三類產品前必須在ACA注冊申請使用C-TICK 標志。 一類產品：對使用無線頻譜的設備干擾輻射較低的產品，如手動開關、簡單的繼電器、單向鼠籠式電感電機、電阻等。這類產品在生產銷售時可自願申請使用c-tick標志。 二類產品：對使用無線頻譜的設備干擾輻射較高的產品，如開關電源、電焊機、調光器、大部分的家用電器等。 三類產品：對使用無線頻譜的設備干擾極高的產品，即CISPR11與CISPR22覆蓋的產品。由於在ACA注冊申請使用C-TICK標志的申請人只限於在澳大利亞或紐西蘭的注冊公司，可通過澳大利亞或紐西蘭的買家或在澳大利亞或紐西蘭由分支機構/合作夥伴的認證機構申請。
