就像這個團名一樣直接，她們是糖果般晶瑩多彩，美麗可愛的少女組合，四個不同個性的女生，可愛開朗，文靜羞澀，成熟內斂，聰明乖巧。語言天分加上不俗的唱功，讓她們成為繼S.E.S(聽歌)之後又一隻在韓國發展成功的女子組合。

[編輯本段]sugar出道經歷
2001年，ayomi，soojin，jungeum和hyesung4個女生各自接受在韓國的試聽後被經紀公司選中，於年底4人被組合在一起，進行了為期半年的訓練。
2002年3月公開亮相，Sugar組合在韓國誕生了！3月13日發行了第一張專輯《Tell Me Why》，四個女生可愛甜美的造型以及曲風和舞蹈令人賞心悅目，一舉在韓國的流行歌曲排行榜上進入top10榜單，也獲得了KBS和SBS的眾多獎項。
2003年6月19日，Sugar發行了第二張專輯《Shine》，在KBS的COMEBACK演唱會中亮相的四個人又有了新的成長，歌技，舞蹈，外型，都邁向了成熟的一步。
2004年2月4日，Sugar發行第一張日文單曲《GO THE DISTANCE》，正式進軍日本，因為有著日籍的AYUMI這一得天獨厚的語言條件，加上四個成員的甜美形象，單曲一經推出便得到了很好的反響。2004年3月10日，與第一張單曲相隔一個月的短短時間內，Sugar又發行了第二張單曲《All my loving/サクラ列車》，2004年7月22日發行了第三張單曲《風と花束》隨後發行了首張日文大碟《Double Rain(聽歌)bow》，並接受了人氣偶像雜志JUNON的采訪，被成為最有潛力的外國籍組合。
2004年年末，jungeum退出Sugar組合單飛，新成員harin加入。SUGER的活動重心再次轉向韓國國內，發行了第二張專輯之後，有一次在日本重新出發，發行了第四張單曲《Heartful》，進入ORICON單曲榜前十位。
2005年，成員開始參加各種綜藝節目，曝光率再次提高，成為國民人氣女子組合，在日本的發展也得到歌迷認可。
2006年4月，soojin（朴秀真）單飛，變身演員，轉簽韓國最大的演藝公司iHQ，成為全智賢、全度妍、宋慧喬、車太賢、孔侑、趙仁成、張赫、林秀晶、成宥利等的同門師妹，iHQ表示要把朴秀真打造成韓佳人的接班人。
2006年AYUMI單飛，翻唱了日本歌姬幸田來未的單曲《QUITE HONEY》，一改可愛甜美形象，走性感路線，在韓國大受歡迎，人氣再次攀升。
2007年，AYUMI加入了SM公司，並參與了夏日專輯的錄制。

SOOJIN的自述：我有個哥哥。年幼的時候，很會和他吵嘴。因為我是女生,哥哥是男生，不用說，爭吵肯定哥哥勝了。不過。從小的時候憧憬著做藝人,當然，並不只是有對歌的熱情。初中3年級的暑假由於朋友的介紹試著接受試聽，合格了，那個使我有契機成為 Sugar 的一員。與成員一起唱歌的練習，慢慢的我感到歌本身無窮的魅力。

JungEum的自述： 小的時候的我是個野丫頭一樣的女兒。特別調皮，小學的時候，先輩和晚輩不知道我事的人幾乎不存在。由於爸爸的規勸開始學韓國舞蹈,不過，最初很累。可是華麗與舞蹈也是一個不同的世界。但是對我來說絕對是困難的啊！然後試著接受試聽，也合格了，於是能成為Sugar 的一員。
對sugar其他成員的認識：成員最在最初遇見的是Ayumi。我因為是積極的性格馬上跟人說話了,不過，那個時候的Ayumi不會說韓國語。也有那個的不可思議的印象，還是異國的人啊！！！其次遇見了的soojin，是象守護一樣的純潔的氣氛啊。 hyesun是韓國的傳統性的美人。但是喜歡hip hop風格與我相似喲。也因為趣味相似馬上達成一片了.
